There is a past of the Pinnacles Desert

The Pinnacles are located in Western Australia's Nambung National Park.Their thousands of naturally occurring column-shaped formations, which range in height from about 1 to 3.5 meters, gave rise to their name. The yellow sand dunes that were blown in various directions throughout the formation process are what give them their rough, worn appearance. Corals, broken seashells, and limestone are moved inland and weather over time to form formations; the creation of them still remains mysterious.

Regarding how the rock formations came to be, there are two main theories: one suggests that the deposits of limestones were eroding for a long time, while the other says that tree casts or roots hardened by calcium may have been the source of the formations before were coated with limestone.

The supposed age of the Pinnacles ranges from 25,000 to 30,000 years. They were already well-known in the 20th century, and eventually in 1994, 3 reserve areas were combined to form Nambung National Park.
